After more that 35 years working in the performing arts there are lots of stories to tell and shows to share. I will be uploading a bit at a time so do not expect any particular order for now.
The multimedia aspect for the production of Oscar Edelstein's original libretto and score was designed by Deborah Claire Procter to specifically fit the main hall of the former National Library of Argentina where Jorge Luis Borges worked.
Procter conceived the design of the video with three large cloth screens that unfurled into place one by one during the performance.
Jimena Chamorro made the scenography possible for this historic space made more famous becaue Jorge Luis Borges had worked there.
The video contained images from a previous work "Rivers and Mirrors: Part I" - a piano recital by Edelstein - where Procter had filmed the dancer Sandra Grinberg in the the same space as the performance of "La Carta Imaginaria" creating a kind of mirroring of images and the actual building where the rows and columns of empty shelves are particuarly evocative.

The premiere in "Sala Williams", Centro Nacional de la Música (Calle México 564) Buenos Aires on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd June 2014 was part of "Ciclo Iberoamericano de Ópera Contemporánea" (Cycle of Iberianamerican Contemporary Opera) at the Centro Nacional de la Música (Buenos Aires).
It was commissioned by the Ministerio de Cultura de la Nación.
The production was both conceived, written (libretto and score) and directed by Oscar Edelstein.
"La Carta Imaginaria" (The Imaginary Letter) is in the form of a musical poem about that which is written and that which is not - illusion, error and destiny.
